Esplanade

A coastal home with a Mediterranean influence.

The brief

The owners wanted to transform an older brick-veneer house into a contemporary coastal home with a Mediterranean influence. The brief paired premium finishes with generous spaces for entertaining, both inside and out.

From plans to handover

Working from the supplied plans by Meta Morphosis, Elk Build was engaged to deliver the renovation through to handover. The ten-month build brought together the transformed façade, refined interiors and a large alfresco and entertaining area with a pool.

Materials, light and detail

Quartz stone cladding and aluminium battens give the façade its new character. Circular skylights bring light into the home, while premium finishes carry the coastal palette through the interiors. The outdoor spaces extend the home’s focus on relaxed living and entertaining.

Bringing old and new together

Integrating the existing house with the new work was a central part of the build. Careful attention to the transitions between old and new helped create a cohesive home, with a consistent level of finish throughout.
